Alessandro Troncon made his international debut for Italy in 1994, before becoming the seventh
rugby player to reach Centurion status.
Troncon’s career highlights include being named ‘Man of the Match’ twice in the 2007 Six
Nations. The first of which came during Italy’s first overseas victory in the tournament, it was
also a game in which Troncon scored a try.
Capped 101 times for the Azzurri, Troncon is the 8th most capped player in Italian rugby union
history, and was the first Italian to earn 100 International caps. Before retiring from the national
team, Troncon earned Centurion status in a pool-match game against Portugal during the 2007
Rugby World Cup.
