Scotland’s second most capped player, Christopher Paterson has won 109 caps for Scotland,
playing in a range of positions, including fullback, wing and fly-half.
Following a notable start to his rugby career, with a solo try that won hometown club Gala the
1999 Scottish Cup, Paterson made his international debut for Scotland as a fullback in the
World Cup later that year.
Highlights along the way include being named Scotland’s ‘Player of the Tournament’ after scoring
71 points during the 2003 Rugby World Cup. Before becoming the first player to reach 100
international caps for Scotland in 2010.
Scoring a total of 809 points for his national team, Paterson retired from international rugby late
in 2011 as Scotland’s record points scorer.
