Percy Montgomery

When Percy Montgomery retired from international duty in 2008, he held the record for the most caps and points amassed by any South African player ever.
During a glittering career, Montgomery earned his first Springboks cap in 1997 against the British & Irish Lions. Before becoming an integral member of South Africa’s 2007 Rugby World Cup winning side. A tournament in which Montgomery was the leading points scorer.
Montgomery won the Tri-Nations on two occasions, in 1998 and 2004. He was the top points scorer in the competition in both 2004 and 2005.
