A scrum-half by trade, Genia has represented the Wallabies in 100 international games.
Genia made his test debut for the Wallabies in the 2009 Tri Nations game against the All Blacks at Eden Park. In 2010, he was voted players’ player of the season by his Queensland Reds teammates, as well as receiving the fans’ player of the year award.
In 2011, Genia was voted the Australian Super Rugby Player of the Year by Australian rugby writers and captained the Wallabies for the first time; becoming the 78th test captain of Australia in the process. During that year, he was also nominated for the IRB Player of the Year award.
