George Smith won 111 caps for Australia, after earning his debut in 2000 against France.
Smith is the second most capped Australian forward behind Nathan Sharpe, and is the second
most capped flanker in rugby union history behind Richie McCaw. He also holds the record for
being the youngest player to reach 100 test matches, after reaching the milestone at just 29
years and 4 days old.
Smith was the first recipient of the John Eales Medal, which recognises the Australian Rugby
Union Player of the Year. On top of this, Smith won the Australian Super 14 Player of the Year
for four consecutive years between 2006 and 2009.
